YEAR 5 NEON + R: DATA ANALYSIS WORKSHOP
Polson, Montana

The Year 4 NEON + R: Data Analysis Workshop was held on September 30 - October 4, 2025. Emerge fellows traveled to Polson, Montana to stay at the University of Montana's Flathead Lake Biological Station where they spent three full days and four nights. Days were spent mining and analyzing aquatic NEON data with Program R. Fellows also enjoyed a field trip to Glacier National Park. Guest speakers included Stephanie Parker (EAB & Batelle: NEON), Bobby Hensley (Battelle: NEON), and Laurel Genzoli (postdoctoral researcher from the University of Nevada, Reno).

Emerge funded 4 undergraduate students, 13 graduate students, and 1 early career professional (total: 18) to participate. This workshop was led by Co-PI Dan McGarvey with support from Breanna Ondich (Emerge Program Coordinator).
